Disneyland-A rant in favor of the Happiest Place on Earth.

I originally wrote this on the 13th (I went to Disneyland the day before.) I also went yesterday to Disneyland (the 17th)  I really want to share this with people it is something I think a great deal about. Forgive me it is a bit of a rant. :)

I went to Disneyland yesterday, it was so much fun! I'm so glad I got to go and for the first time in a couple years most of my family went also! Disneyland is by far are favorite place to go for fun and some of my best childhood memories take place there.

During our visit me and my older sister separated from the rest and went through a art gallery/history of Walt Disney and Disneyland. I knew everything they where talking about already being a Disneyland history geek and I've seen all the art a million times but its just to good to miss seeing again. But that day it hit me particularly hard when I read a plaque where Walt Disney stated when he first started dreaming of Disneyland, he took his daughters out EVER Saturday to carousel or other such things and would sit and watch them ride. Wishing they had a place to entertain both parents and children and bring them closer together. It struck me, who actually still spends time with there children like that? Walt was a busy person and had failings on a financial level but he still made time to spend with his daughters. I can only think of 3 or 4 people(outside my family) that truly move there work and personal wants aside to spend true time with there child.

By no means, I'm sure, was Walt Disney a perfect man or a perfect parent. But the idea he wanted to make a place where family's could grow closer and enjoy themselves is a good thing. My personal opinion. What Walt Disney did has made my life significantly better, Disneyland is seriously the only place that I have been that just walking in makes me relax. I take a deep breath and walk down main street and start to smile because how can you frown when it is so beautiful? Maybe I have screwed up my idea of what happiness and joy should be but if Disneyland doesn't give me a happiness that lasts I really don't know what does.
